Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician for our new inpatient detox and residential facility in Richmond, VA. This role supports daily operations, client engagement, and a positive recovery environment on site.

We value leadership, empathy, and clear boundaries; a high school diploma or GED is preferred, with a valid driver's license and CPR certification preferred. In recovery, a year of sobriety is encouraged.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver's license and CPR certification preferred.
• If in recovery, a minimum one-year period of sustained sobriety is required.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Warm, empathetic personality with ability to set firm boundaries.
• Dignified, honest character which models recovery principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage all daily residential operations (intake, supervision, events, transportation, food service, medications).
• Train and support BHT team in all operations and responsibilities.
• Escalate concerns or crises to Lead Behavioral Health Technician.
• Oversee client engagement and morale, maintaining a warm recovery environment.
• Ensure client and BHT compliance with all Avenues rules, policies and procedures.
