Job summary

FirstHealth of the Carolinas in Pinehurst, NC, seeks an experienced inpatient Behavioral Health Physician Assistant or PMHNP to provide PRN coverage on a 30-bed unit, one to two weekends per month, with physician and interdisciplinary team support.

The role involves inpatient psychiatric rounding and BH consultations in hospital and ED, with NC licensure, NCCPA certification for PAs, and ACLS; DEA eligibility is required. Strong communication and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Current NCCPA certification required for PAs.
• PMHNP certification required for Nurse Practitioners.
• Minimum of two years of behavioral health experience strongly preferred.
• Eligible for North Carolina licensure and DEA registration.
• Current AHA ACLS certification required.
• Excellent communication, patient care, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient psychiatric rounding on a 30-bed adult unit.
• Behavioral health consultations in hospital and Emergency Department.
• Collaborate with physicians and APNs in a collegial practice environment.
• Provide PRN coverage one to two weekends per month.
• Support a comprehensive inpatient behavioral health program.
