Job summary

Horizon Health, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, is seeking an LPN for a full-time Behavioral Health unit at Abbeville General Hospital in Abbeville, LA. The LPN will deliver care to adults on an inpatient psychiatric unit under supervision and document patient progress.

Responsibilities include interpreting care needs for the team, assisting with patient safety, administering meds, and supporting patients and families with compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted LPN license.
• 1–3 years of nursing experience.
• CPR, BLS, ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care under supervision to psychiatric inpatients.
• Observe patients and document their medical and physical condition.
• Attend to personal care needs (hygiene, toileting, bathing, dressing).
• Record vital signs (pulse, BP, temp, respiration).
• Assist with seclusion or restraints when necessary and ensure safety.
• Administer medications and injections as directed.
• Follow voluntary and involuntary procedures and communicate needs to nonclinical staff.
• Interpret patient needs to the healthcare team and support patient dignity.
• Provide emotional and psychological support to patients, families and friends.
• Other duties as assigned.
