Job summary

St. John's Hospital in Leavenworth, KS is seeking a part-time Behavioral Health Licensed Practical Nurse to provide compassionate, hands‑on care to patients with acute mental health needs in an inpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state LPN license (LVN) or Psychiatric Technician license.
• BLS certification upon hire and maintain current.
• IV certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients with acute mental and behavioral health needs in an inpatient setting.
• Observe, monitor, and document patient behavior, mental status, and safety risks.
• Administer medications as ordered and monitor for side effects.
• Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation to promote unit safety.
• Support admissions, discharges, and transfers, including patient education.
• Collaborate with RNs, providers, and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Complete accurate clinical documentation per policy and regulations.
