Job summary

Prime Healthcare Services is seeking a Behavioral Health Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Saint John Hospital in Leavenworth, KS. The role supports inpatients with acute mental health needs under an interdisciplinary team, focusing on safety, stabilization, and recovery.

You will perform medication administration, patient monitoring, crisis intervention, and care coordination on 12-hour day shifts (7:00 am – 7:00 pm). Full benefits are provided. Sign-on bonus available.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state license as an LPN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) or similar
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire
• IV certification within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients with acute mental and behavioral health needs in an inpatient setting
• Observe, monitor, and document patient behavior, mental status, and safety risks
• Administer medications as ordered and monitor for side effects
• Assist with crisis intervention and de‑escalation to promote unit safety
• Support admissions, discharges, and transfers, including patient education
• Collaborate with RNs, providers, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Complete, accurate, and timely clinical documentation per policy and regulations
