Bon Secours Mercy Health’s St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital seeks an Anesthesia Clinical Assistant to support anesthesia teams in preop, intraop, and postprocedure settings. Qualifications

• BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (required)
• Medical Terminology (preferred)
• ASATT Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer.A.T) (preferred in lieu of experience)
• 1 year experience of anesthesia, emergency/medical or related experience (required in lieu of certification or education)
• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• 2-year associate’s degree (preferred)
• Graduate from an accredited Anesthesia Tech school or program (required in lieu of experience)
• Combination of post-secondary education and experience will be considered in lieu of degree

Responsibilities

• Set up and troubleshoot anesthesia machines, monitors, ancillary equipment, and supplies.
• Set-up and assist with equipment and supplies for anesthesia cases across areas (preop, intraop, endoscopy, CVL, X-ray, IR, angiography).
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas with aseptic technique.
• Maintain supply stock in rooms, workstations, Pyxis/Omnicell, and carts.
• Assist with inventory, ordering, and maintaining department stock with Supply Chain.
• Report equipment in need of repair and assist in planning repairs/replacements.
• Assist with patient positioning and draping for invasive monitoring and nerve blocks.
• Perform under pressure during emergencies and trauma; follow instructions.
• Anticipate needs for invasive monitoring based on OR schedule.
• Develop and maintain tracking logs for anesthesia equipment and logs.
