Job summary

Mercy Health – St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital is seeking an Anesthesia Clinical Assistant for Inpatient Surgery.

The role involves supporting anesthesia providers, setting up and maintaining anesthesia equipment, and assisting with invasive monitoring and nerve blocks in a fast-paced perioperative environment. Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, inventory management with Supply Chain, aseptic technique, and documenting procedures.

Qualifications

• Sets up and troubleshoots anesthesia machines and monitors.
• Prepares equipment for anesthesia cases across locations (preop, intraop, imaging).
• Maintains cleanliness and inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Assists with planning repairs and securing temporary replacements.
• Maintains logs and records per state and Joint Commission requirements.

Responsibilities

• Set up and troubleshoot anesthesia equipment and supplies.
• Assist with invasive monitoring procedures and nerve blocks.
• Maintain aseptic technique and sterile conditions in work areas.
• Manage supply stock and coordinate with Supply Chain for inventory.
• Document and track anesthesia equipment maintenance and logs.
