Huntsville Hospital seeks an Admitting Registrar to collect demographic information and verify eligibility, benefits and pre-cert requirements for all inpatients and Behavioral Health patients in partial or IOP programs.

The registrar provides insurance information to Registration management for daily review, ensures all admission documents are signed and filed, and coordinates with Case Management to obtain pre-certification and secure payment arrangements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• One year registration experience preferred.
• Experience with personal computer applications or data input terminals is required; must be able to utilize a calculator and type 35 words per minute.

Responsabilités

• Obtain demographic information and verify eligibility, benefits and pre-cert requirements for all inpatients and Behavioral Health patients in partial or IOP programs.
• Provide insurance information to Registration management for daily review.
• Ensure all necessary admission documents are signed and placed on the medical chart.
• Make judgmental decisions concerning accounts to secure payment arrangements.
• Coordinate information with Case Management to ensure pre-certification is obtained.
