Job summary

Copper Springs, part of LifePoint Health, seeks an inpatient Activity Therapist to deliver therapeutic activities and adapt plans to patient needs. The role requires a Master's degree in a related field and active certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS; ASLS preferred).

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Music Therapy, Recreational Therapy, or Art Therapy from an accredited school.
• Current state licensure or eligibility for practice as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Applies appropriate theory and standards for decision and actions regarding therapeutic practices.
• Assesses patient needs considering cultural, religious, and physical abilities in groups and activities.
• Documents patient responses to interventions in daily/weekly progress notes.
• Completes all assessments within required timeframes and supports workload balance.
• Forms initial and subsequent treatment programs per physician treatment orders.
• Develops a plan of care with measurable goals and interventions.
• Delivers therapy procedures per plan and communicates with patients to achieve benefits.
• Maintains communication with the treatment team and physician when treatment isn't effective.
• Contributes to patient program effectiveness and sustains a quality program.
• Understands developmental needs across age groups and adapts activities accordingly.
• Provides varied activities aligned with treatment plan and patient needs.
• Reassesses and updates goals if patient condition changes or after 7 days.
• Offers direction to staff regarding activity groups and updates treatment plans.
