Job summary

Sierra Wireless in Rowland, CA is seeking a Wafer Fab Process Technician to lead high‑volume production of InP BH DFB lasers and BH gain chips. The role focuses on metallization, dry and wet etch, and contact formation in a III‑V cleanroom, ensuring process stability and yield.

You will operate e‑beam evaporation and sputtering systems, perform inspections, and mentor operators while driving throughput and troubleshooting process excursions to meet daily schedules.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in semiconductor/photonics wafer processing with III–V/InP experience.
• Direct hands-on in e-beam evaporation or sputter deposition in high-volume fab.
• Experience with dry and wet etch on III–V materials.
• Knowledge of metallization, lift-off, and contact alloy processes.
• Ability to lead root-cause investigations and mentor others.
• Able to work in cleanroom and handle hazardous chemicals safely.

Responsibilities

• Operate metallization module for volume production in InP BH DFB lasers and BH GC.
• Manage deposition systems, monitor thickness, rate, and uniformity.
• Perform lift-off, etch, and RTA/anneal for ohmic contacts.
• Lead root-cause investigations for process excursions and drift.
• Own SPC, POR documentation, and process changes.
