Job summary

Rice University invites applications for a non-tenure track assistant teaching professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, mentor teaching assistants, advise students on curriculum and electives, and help drive ABET accreditation and program assessment efforts.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Biomolecular Engineering, Bioengineering, or related field.
• ABET accreditation experience or leadership is desirable.
• Commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence and curriculum development.

Responsibilities

• Teach Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering to undergraduate students.
• Mentor assigned graduate and undergraduate student teaching assistants.
• Advise undergraduate students on curriculum selection and electives.
• Lead effort for ABET accreditation and coordinate program assessments.
• Prepare review documents and ensure ABET compliance.
• Participate in curriculum development for BSChE and BA programs.
• Serve on the undergraduate program committee and engage in professional development.
