Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a qualified teacher to join our urban district. Under the supervision of the school principal, teachers are responsible for instruction, progress, tracking, and discipline of all students in assigned classes, and perform other duties as assigned.

A valid Illinois ISBE teaching license with LBS1 endorsement and a bachelor’s degree are required. CPS online application and teaching profile must be completed to be considered.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
• Completion of the CPS online application and teaching profile.
• A valid Illinois ISBE teaching license with LBS1 endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a deep understanding of content, pedagogy, and student knowledge to design coherent instruction and assessments.
• Create a respectful classroom culture with strong management of behaviors and procedures.
• Respond to student needs with engaging instruction and aligned assessments.

• Prioritize student safety and enforce the Student Code of Conduct.
