Job summary

Nidec Corporation is seeking a Design Engineer II - Solutions Engineering for its North America team in St. Louis, MO.

You will translate customer requirements into optimized technical designs and work cross-functionally with Product Management, R&D Engineering, and Application Engineering to apply standard products and derivatives to customer needs. The role emphasizes 3D CAD modeling, documentation, BOM management, prototype support, and collaboration with Manufacturing and Quality to ensure

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
2–4 years of product design/engineering experience.
Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor or AutoCAD.
Strong attention to detail and documentation standards.
Ability to manage multiple design tasks with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

Translate application requirements into optimized technical designs and ensuring seamless execution across the product lifecycle.
Independently design components, assemblies, or subsystems based on defined requirements and maintain 3D CAD models.
Prepare and maintain drawings, specifications, and BOMs (Bills of Materials).
Support prototype builds, testing, and validation activities and analyze results for design updates.
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Project teams to ensure design feasibility.
