Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Software Development Manager in Holmdel, NJ to lead a team of software developers across design, development, testing and implementation of software solutions.

You will provide technical guidance, mentor team members, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining high standards of code quality and scalable architecture using Microsoft technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• 8–10 years in the area of application development.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Manage and document updates within applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Display professionalism in handling sensitive information.
• Ability to read, write and understand English for job communications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide team development efforts towards successful project delivery.
• Maintain high standards of software quality within the team using industry practices.
• Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts and software architects to plan, design, test, and maintain Microsoft-based apps.
• Design, develop, and unit test applications per standards.
• Participate in peer-reviews of designs and code.
• Package and support deployment of releases.
• Assist in migrating legacy apps to current Microsoft technologies.
• Develop, refine, and tune integrations between applications.
• Analyze and resolve technical and application problems.
• Adhere to high-quality development principles and timely delivery.
• Research and evaluate various software products.
• Recommend system solutions after weighing options.
• Gather user requirements, estimates and work plans.
• Prepare reports, manuals and maintenance documentation.
• Identify opportunities for app/process improvements and document them.
• Provide third-level support to internal users.
