Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Three years of professional teaching experience.
• Colorado teaching license required by CDE.
• Endorsement in Colorado Special Education for the assigned program.
• Biennial Crisis Prevention Intervention training by the District.
• Background check and fingerprinting required for hire.
• Strong communication, organizational and human relations skills.
• Ability to align curriculum and assessments with state standards.
• Ability to support programs aimed at increasing student achievement.
• Ability to lead in development and communication of programs and curriculum.
• Ability and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Active participation in a Professional Learning Community is expected.
• Commitment to student diversity and inclusive practices.
• A role model and lifelong learner contributing to instructional practice.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in large, small, and one-on-one settings.
• Develop, plan, and implement curriculum content and lesson plans.
• Grade assignments and assessments and provide feedback.
• Design varied assessments and use data to adjust instruction.
• Create a positive classroom environment and manage behavior.
• Monitor student growth and maintain progress documentation.
• Communicate student progress with parents and staff.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to improve outcomes.
• Participate in meetings, conferences, and professional activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree

Three (3) years of professional, certified teaching experience

Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license

Colorado Special Education Teacher endorsement applicable to position incumbent’s assigned program

Mandatory biennial Crisis Prevention Intervention training provided by the District

Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire

Intermediate communication, organization, and human relations skills

Ability to align curriculum and assessments with state content standards

Ability to support programs designed to increase student achievement

Ability to assume leadership in the development and communication of programs and curriculum

Ability and desire to work as a team member
