Job summary

CREC seeks a Reading Intervention teacher for the CREC Academy of Science and Innovation to deliver Tier II/III literacy support and bolster core instruction. You will collaborate with educators to implement responsive literacy strategies and assess progress to inform instruction.

The role requires CT-certified literacy knowledge, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and active participation in team planning, data analysis, and family communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required with CT English (015) or Reading and Language Arts Consultant (097) certification.
• Knowledge of science of literacy and evidence-based reading instruction.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues in a professional learning community.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction through Tier II and III interventions, supporting core instruction.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to design responsive literacy instruction.
• Lead or co-lead structured literacy interventions using evidence-based practices.
• Regularly assess and monitor student progress to guide instruction and determine intervention pathways.
• Administer federal, state, and local assessments as needed.
• Participate in team meetings, planning, data analysis, and family communications.
