Challenge Preparatory Charter School seeks a Reading Specialist Teacher to deliver exceptional small-group instruction and assess scholar growth. You will provide academic and cultural support, reporting to the principal, with a strong emphasis on the science of reading and NYS standards.

Responsibilities include planning literacy instruction, using diagnostic tools, and collaborating with teachers to implement evidence-based literacy strategies across all subjects, especially for English

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree required
• Master's degree preferred
• NYS certification required
• Urban teaching experience preferred
• Ability to use data to drive instruction

Mansioni

• Coordinate and facilitate school-wide literacy program
• Provide support to teachers and strategies to improve literacy instruction
• Teach targeted literacy intervention to small groups daily
• Collaborate with colleagues to write unit plans and interim assessments
• Review student achievement and place students in appropriate reading/writing interventions
• Maintain accurate records of interventions and communicate with families
• Utilize diagnostic tools to assess literacy levels and progress
• Incorporate NYS Learning Standards in instruction
