Job summary

Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) Academy of Science and Innovation seeks a Reading Intervention Teacher to deliver targeted literacy support and strengthen core instruction for secondary students. The teacher will collaborate with general education staff, lead intervention sessions, and use evidence-based practices grounded in the science of literacy.

Responsibilities include progress monitoring, data analysis, and close communication with families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required with CT certification in English or Reading.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the science of literacy and evidence-based reading instruction
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Capacity to collaborate effectively within a professional learning community

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction through Tier II/III interventions and support strong core instruction at Tier I.
• 1
• Collaborate with general education teachers and instructional coaches to design literacy instruction.
• Lead or co-lead structured literacy intervention classes with evidence-based practices.
• Regularly assess, monitor, and document student progress to inform instruction.
• Administer federal, state, and local assessments as needed.
• Participate in team meetings, data analysis, and family communication processes.
• Comply with CREC policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned.
