Job summary

Lamar University seeks a Manager of Makerspace and Fabrication Labs to lead day-to-day operations, safety, and staff supervision in the campus Makerspace. You will coordinate programming, training sessions, and student engagement while supporting faculty research and instructional activities.

Ideal candidates have STEM training and hands-on experience with fabrication equipment, plus supervisory experience and a commitment to safety and program development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM-related field.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a fabrication, makerspace, machine shop, or similar technical environment.
• Working knowledge of laboratory and shop safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Makerspace programming, training, and student engagement.
• Supervise student workers and assign workloads.
• Maintain equipment, safety, and inventory in the Makerspace.
• Provide lab and fabrication support for instructional and research activities.
