Job summary

Lamar University in Beaumont seeks a Manager of Makerspace and Fabrication Labs to lead daily operations, oversee equipment maintenance, and supervise student workers. You will provide technical guidance to students, faculty, and staff, support instructional and research activities, and ensure a safe, organized fabrication environment.

The role requires a STEM degree and hands-on experience with fabrication equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM field.
• At least two years in fabrication/makerspace environment.
• Working knowledge of lab and shop safety practices.
• Degree in engineering or technology field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day Makerspace operations and staff.
• Provide technical guidance to students, faculty and staff.
• Manage equipment maintenance, access, safety and inventory.
• Develop training programs and supervise student workers.
• Ensure safety compliance and coordinate with campus partners.
