Qualifications

• Knowledge of principles, methods, and techniques related to maker practice and experiential learning.
• Sewing, fashion, fabric arts, and/or textile design skills.
• Knowledge of craft and maker processes and technologies.
• Ability to plan, organize, and schedule activities.
• Ability to operate maker equipment and tools.
• Ability to maintain usage data and information.
• Ability to perform simple maintenance of technical equipment.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull 40 pounds.
• Support the mission and values of Seattle University (Jesuit/Catholic).
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings/weekends.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the makerspace and ensure accessibility and safety.
• Recruit, train, and supervise student staff; foster an inclusive team.
• Develop programs to engage a diverse student community and partners.
• Collaborate with faculty to integrate making into teaching and learning.
• Support outreach and engagement to broaden participation.
