Job summary

PUMA Group is seeking a hands-on R&D support technician in Carlsbad, CA to assist engineers in developing and testing innovative golf products. You will assemble clubs, measure performance, and operate lab equipment to quantify design outcomes.

The role requires 6 months to 2 years of related experience, lab or shop familiarity, and strong communication skills. High school diploma required; college degree preferred. Base pay ranges with bonus and benefits.

Qualifications

• 6 months - 2 years relevant work experience.
• Prior experience in a lab or machine shop preferred; golf industry a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support R&D engineers with development and testing of golf products.
• Assemble golf clubs to support ongoing R&D tests.
• Measure physical properties of clubs to quantify performance (center of gravity, moment of inertia, CT).
• Operate test equipment (robots, air cannons, shaft measurement machines) to determine performance of new designs.
• Operate rapid prototype machines and prepare CAD-based samples.
• Inspect first article samples to assist product development.
• Procure, measure, and analyze properties of competitor clubs.
• Participate in evaluation and testing of new products.
