Job summary

ROCKFORD PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT #205 is seeking a Fourth Grade Teacher to deliver engaging instruction aligned with district standards and a focus on inquiry-based learning. The position reports to the Principal in the Curriculum Department and supports a comprehensive, data-informed instructional program.

The teacher will plan, assess, and adapt lessons, maintain records, participate in PLCs, and use technology to enhance learning for a diverse student population.

Qualifications

• Possess Illinois teaching license with appropriate endorsements and certifications.
• Ability to plan, assess, and adapt instruction to diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
• Engage students in inquiry-based delivery of instruction.
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with laws, district policies and school regulations.
• Create a safe learning environment and implement effective behavior management.
• Communicate student progress and needs to families and colleagues.
• Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLC).
• Create formative assessments aligned to district curriculum and analyze data to inform instruction.
