Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years engineering experience in related field.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.
• Proven success in past work experience in designing a product that was mass produced.
• Experience in managing low to moderately complex new product development projects.
• Engineering aptitude with broad knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes for Milwaukee Tool products.
• Solid understanding of part costing methodology.
• Good understanding of engineering specifications and the roles of Suppliers, Quality, and Purchasing.
• Excellent problem identification and resolution skills.
• Results driven with aggressive schedules and ability to adapt to change.
• Ability to draft test plans and specifications; familiarity with tolerance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership over moderate to highly complex design projects; guides designers and engineers.
• Develops schedules, facilitates meetings, and tracks timelines; presents project status.
• Ensures completion of engineering projects within budgets and schedules.
• Coordinates planning for low to moderate complexity projects; identifies risks.
• Supports NPD from conception to product launch and assesses maturity of designs.
• Frames design tradeoffs with Marketing and cross-functional teams; schedules development work.
• Maintains communication with cross-functional international teams and management.
• Identifies manufacturing hurdles and suggests improvements to designs.
• Collaborates with Operations, Quality and Suppliers to deliver conforming parts.
• Motivates teams to meet cost, performance, and schedule objectives.
• Contributes input for performance appraisals without formal supervision.
