Job summary

University of Nebraska-Lincoln invites applications for a tenure-line Assistant Professor of Elementary Mathematics Education. The candidate will teach and advise undergraduate and graduate students in mathematics education, collaborate with content specialists and teachers, and contribute to nationally visible programs.

The position emphasizes collaboration across departments, commitment to diverse populations, and development of funded research and scholarship within TLTE and partner schools.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in mathematics education, curriculum and instruction, teacher education, or a related field.
• ABD candidates will be considered, but a doctoral degree must be completed before the position start date.
• A minimum of two years elementary or secondary teaching experience.
• Preparation to teach college-level mathematics education courses.
• A clear research agenda anchored to elementary mathematics education and/or teacher education.
• Evidence of professional and institutional service.
• Demonstrated commitment to access and equity in teaching and scholarship.

Responsibilities

• Teach Elementary Mathematics methods coursework as part of a collaborative undergraduate STEM Block of courses.
• Teach graduate courses in K-12 Mathematics Education and other areas of expertise.
• Advise and mentor master’s and doctoral students.
• Conduct a scholarly program of research appropriate to rank.
• Engage actively in collaboration and development within and across content areas, programs, departments, and colleges.
• Provide outreach to schools, other educational institutions, and communities.
