Job summary

Anchor Group Management Inc. is seeking a Commercial Underwriter to join our team in Schaumburg, IL. You will review, document and analyze commercial auto risks in line with carrier partner guidelines and delegated authority.

You will work with brokers to respond to referrals, determine pricing with models or leadership guidance, and prepare quotes and policies while maintaining strong relationships with clients. This role requires rigorous analysis and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 1-year Commercial Auto Underwriting experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Underwriting principles and ISO rules.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while maintaining workload.
• Effective interpersonal, communication and time management skills.
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external customers.
• Proficient with Word and Excel; willingness to travel overnight up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve applications and renewals per carrier guidelines and authority.
• Respond to broker referrals through the point-of-sale system within standard timeframes.
• Determine pricing using predictive models or leadership guidance.
• Prepare quotes, issue policies and follow up on quote subjectivities.
• Prescreen renewal business and advise on non-renewal when needed.
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends, regulations and competitors.
• Collaborate with team to achieve department goals.
