Job summary

University of North Texas Health Science Center seeks a dynamic, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Pharmacology/Neuroscience to contribute to education, research, and service. The hire will develop extramurally funded programs, mentor students, and teach at graduate and undergraduate levels on the Fort Worth campus.

The successful candidate will report to the Department Chair and have access to outstanding facilities and startup funding to build an independent research program aligned with UNT

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Pharmacology or Neuroscience or related field.
• 3–4 years postdoctoral experience.
• Proven publications and current extramural funding.
• Experience teaching at the graduate level.
• Experience mentoring undergraduate and/or graduate students.

Responsibilities

• Teaching and mentoring of graduate students, postdoctoral trainees, and technical staff undertaking research projects.
• Participating in the activities of departmental committees.
• Maintaining a safe work environment, including compliance with laws and risk assessments.
• Seeking extramural support to sustain high-quality research.
• Pursuing additional professional and service activities as assigned by the department chair.
• Promoting the mission, vision, and values of UNT Health.
