Job summary

High Plains Library District's Library Innovation Center in Greeley, CO invites applications for a part-time role supporting patrons with maker-space activities and technology learning. You’ll guide equipment use, run trainings, and help run in-branch programs.

Responsibilities include assisting patrons, delivering technology instruction, coordinating community programs, maintaining tools, and contributing to outreach and displays. Fluency in Spanish is preferred and associates degree required.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree is required.
  • One year of related experience is preferred.
  • Spanish fluency is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • 35% - PATRON ASSISTANCE: Serves as first contact for patrons, guiding use of equipment and registering for training.
  • 25% - TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTION: Provides tech assistance, safety training, and references to specialists.
  • 25% - IN BRANCH PROGRAMMING: Develops and supports programs and community relationships.
  • 10% - MAINTENANCE OF INNOVATION: Maintains and cleans makers space tools and equipment; notes repairs.
  • 5% - OTHER DUTIES: Assists with website content, displays, and outreach.

Pay Grade : 49 Compensation/Benefits: $24.09 - $32.59/ hr ; Part-time benefits FLSA Classification : Non-Exempt Hours: 30 hrs / wk Part-time; Some days, evenings, and weekends Location: LINC Library Innovation Center, Greeley, CO 80631

Role

Answers patron requests for information and assistance and helps patrons learn and create in a makerspace and woodworking/industrial shop.


Major Duties and Responsibilities


  • 35% - PATRON ASSISTANCE - Serves as the first point of contact for patrons in assistance with using industrial, maker, and innovation equipment; guiding them in use of machinery, hardware, and software. Helps patron register for training and booking equipment. Provide one-on-one assistance with maker and woodworking equipment upon request. (Essential)

  • 25% - TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTION - Serves as a point contact for patrons in assistance with using library technology; identifies opportunities for formal training in the library; advises patrons on availability of classroom and individual technology instruction; conducts safety training and equipment use training for various machines and refers patron on to the Creative Technologist or a Librarian for further assistance. (Essential)

  • 25% - IN BRANCH PROGRAMMING - Under the guidance of a supervisor, develops informative and entertaining programs by using project management and outcomes-based planning and evaluation tools; assists in delivering programs to audiences within the library; builds & maintains relationships with community partners; assists Community Relations and Marketing with recruiting attendees to provide benefit to patrons, to promote use of library resources and represent the library district to the community.   • 10% - MAINTENANCE OF INNOVATION & MAKER SPACE TOOLS & EQUIPMENT - Assists Creative Technologist with the regular maintenance, oversight, and cleaning of the makers space and innovation tools and equipment at LINC. Recommends repairs or replacement equipment as needed. (Essential)

  • 5% - OTHER DUTIES - Assists with providing website content, creating displays, and promoting the industrial space within LINC. Improving and expanding community engagement; Assists Supervisor to ensure the smooth operation of the department. (Non-Essential)


Education

Associate’s Degree


Experience

One year of similar or related experience


Able to read, write, and speak Spanish fluently (preferred)
