Job summary

Georgia Pacific seeks an Innovation Industrial Design/Development Manager to translate customer needs into differentiated foodservice packaging. You will partner with sales, customers, and product development to bring concepts to commercialization with speed and discipline.

In this role you will lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects, and own outcomes from concept to delivery, driving commercial value.

Qualifications

• Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Product Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in packaging concept development.
• Project management experience.
• Ability to build relationships with customers and internal teams.
• Experience with SolidWorks and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of plastics and sustainable materials.

Responsibilities

• Partner with sales and customers to identify unmet needs and high-value problems in foodservice packaging.
• Translate real-world customer applications into innovative packaging concepts.
• Build credibility and trust with customers through deep understanding of application requirements.
• Lead the custom application development process from concept through hand off to product development.
• Develop and refine packaging designs that meet performance, manufacturability, and cost objectives.
• Leverage rapid prototyping and iterative learning to accelerate speed to market.
• Take full accountability for project outcomes, timelines, and execution within application innovation.
• Manage multiple development projects with strong organization and prioritization.
• Deliver outcomes that translate into commercial success and customer value.
• Work across sales, R&D, engineering, and manufacturing.
• Balance independent ownership with collaborative engagement.
• Communicate clearly to align stakeholders and drive decisions.
