Job summary

The New Haven Free Public Library is seeking an innovative library professional to lead the integration of emerging technologies into library services, advancing digital literacy and community engagement.

This position supports the Ives Squared service area at the Ives Main Library, a hub for innovation with spaces like the Tinker Lab, Exchange, Switchboard, Memory Lab, and a cafe/patio overlooking the New Haven Green.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution.
• Minimum of three years of progressively responsible professional library experience.
• Must maintain Connecticut driver’s license and may visit multiple facilities.
• Must be available for occasional evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate emerging technology initiatives and digital services.
• Lead technology-based projects, including digital resources and makerspaces.
• Provide training for staff and patrons on digital tools and information literacy.
• Collaborate with staff, IT, and partners to support technology infrastructure.
