Job summary

Covestro is seeking a motivated intern for its Innovation Excellence Management team in Pittsburgh. You will help explore new approaches to innovation, develop MVPs, and apply agile and Six Sigma tools to support early ideation and product and process development.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, locally and internationally, to strengthen innovation processes and apply training on best practices. A focus on AI-driven applications and training programs will be part of the role.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program at the start of the internship.
• Focus in one of the following majors: Innovation Management, Project Management, Business Analytics, Data Science.
• Completed freshman year.

Responsibilities

• Explore new approaches to innovation and develop them into MVPs for customers to accelerate product development cycles.
• Use Six Sigma, Scrum/Agile, project management and portfolio management to develop custom processes for ideation and product/process development.
• Engage with cross-functional teams locally and internationally to improve collaboration and execution.
• Explore AI and build AI-driven applications to support ideation and project/process support.
• Develop training protocols and workshop approaches for training the broader organization.

You will work in a creative and international environment and support us in Innovation Excellence with the following tasks, among others:

• You will explore new approaches to innovation and develop them into minimum viable products (MVPs) for our customers, the Business Entities, to use to accelerate their product development cycles.
• You will use tools such as Six Sigma, Scrum/Agile, project management, and portfolio management to develop custom process approaches Covestro can use in areas such as early ideation and product and process development.
• You will engage with cross-functional teams - locally and internationally - to deepen our understanding of what is happening in the Business Entities as well as in Group Innovation and apply innovation process excellence to improve collaboration and execution.
• You will explore AI and build custom AI-driven applications to support the organization in pursuit of ideation, project and process support.
• You will develop training protocols and workshop approaches to train the broader organization on best practices for innovation.

WHAT YOU OFFER

Basic Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program at the start of the internship
• Focus in one of the following majors: Innovation Management, Project Management, Business Analytics, Data Science
• Completed freshman year

Preferred Qualifications:

• Overall GPA 3.0 or above
• Prior internship experience
• Student completed sophomore year and ready to enter junior year as of May 2027
