Job summary

Wizards of the Coast, a Hasbro brand, seeks an Innovation Designer for New Player Growth to craft onboarding experiences that welcome new players into Magic and related products. You will prototype, test, and iterate concepts with cross-functional teams to turn ideas into engaging learning journeys.

You will partner with Product, Design, Research, and Production to shape concepts from discovery to launch, guided by player insights and business goals.

Qualifications

• Experience in game design, product design, UX design, or related creative field.
• Portfolio showing iterative concept development and testing.
• Ability to create prototypes that communicate ideas and gather feedback.
• Graphic design skills to produce clear visuals and materials.
• Experience presenting ideas to cross-functional teams and leaders.
• Understanding of game systems and player motivation.
• Experience collaborating with creative, technical, research, and business teams.
• Passion for Magic: The Gathering or similarly complex games.
• Empathy for new players and curiosity about learning barriers.

Responsibilities

• Design and prototype new physical, digital, and connected products for onboarding.
• Apply game design principles to growth-focused learning experiences.
• Explore product forms and partnerships to reach broader audiences.
• Improve onboarding and acquisition-focused products for ease of use.
• Plan and run playtests, observe behavior, and iterate based on feedback.
• Present concepts and recommendations to cross-functional teams and senior leaders.
• Evaluate products post-launch and suggest improvements for engagement.
