Job summary

The Tulare County Sheriff's Office is seeking an Inmate Programs Manager to plan, implement and monitor Alternative to Incarceration and Community Based Punishment programs for inmates in a secure setting.

The role requires coordinating with staff, explaining program rules to inmates and families, and counseling inmates for referrals to suitable programs. Work will be Monday–Friday, with no weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's required? Not specified; associate degree listed as education requirement.
• Four years of experience dealing with inmates in high security.
• Knowledge of budget and grant management; Penal and Vehicle codes.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and maintain Alternative to Incarceration and Community Based Punishment Programs (Work Alternative, Weekender, Electronic Home Monitoring) for minimum/medium security inmates.
• Assess and monitor non-custodial participants in these programs.
• Plan, organize, and supervise inmate workers performing clerical tasks within the unit.
• Explain programs and requirements to inmates and their families.
• Counsel inmates when referrals to alternative programs are needed.
