Job summary

Lubbock County Sheriff's Office is seeking a dedicated officer to manage inmate intake and release at the Lubbock County Detention Center. You will verify arrest paperwork, warrants and bench orders, and coordinate with attorneys, law enforcement, and the public to ensure lawful custody of inmates.

Responsibilities include conducting screenings, fingerprinting, maintaining inmate records, and upholding safety and security within the facility.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak and comprehend English.
• Typing evaluation minimum 35 WPM with 80% accuracy.
• Communication skills and writing ability required.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial inmate screenings (Suicide/Medical/Mental/Developmental disabilities).
• Verify validity of arrest paperwork, warrants, and court bench orders.
• Verify release paperwork, bonds, and bench orders for legal releases.
• Administer body-search technology to prevent contraband.
• Document, search, inventory and maintain inmate personal property.
• Obtain TCIC/NCIC certifications and perform fingerprinting and buccal swab procedures.
• Screen inmates and visitors for active warrants and maintain inmate documentation.
• Maintain safety and security of the facility through search and handling of inmate correspondence.
• Other duties as assigned.
