Zusammenfassung

The Florida Department of Corrections is seeking a Classification Officer at Everglades Correctional Institution to assess and classify inmates based on their needs, risks, and behaviors, and to ensure appropriate housing and program placements within the correctional system. This position is not a telework role and requires reporting to the FDC office in the area served.

Responsibilities include case management, coordinating targeted referrals, OBIS recordkeeping, and participating in hearings

Qualifikationen

• Experience in case management that uses assessments, planning, coordination, and evaluation.
• Experience reviewing, auditing, analyzing, and/or proofreading data.
• Experience applying laws, applicable rules, and procedures.
• Experience or training in the use of OBIS and/or related computer programs.
• Experience with Word, Excel, and/or PowerPoint.
• Experience responding to grievances, inmate requests, or other correspondence.

Aufgaben

• Conduct periodic and unscheduled assessments to track inmate progress and develop management plans.
• Plan and coordinate referrals for treatment, programs, work, and services.
• Evaluate information sources to inform inmate management decisions.
• Maintain inmate records in OBIS and other applications; compile records as needed.
• Lead disciplinary hearings and make custody/reclassification recommendations; oversee gain time awards.
