Job summary

KingRecruitingServices is assisting a U.S. defense and commercial technology client in Pembroke, MA to hire an Inkjet Application Engineer. The role focuses on advancing a production‑grade inkjet platform for flexible electronics, RF/microwave components, and precision deposition.

You will drive hardware/software optimization and meet critical milestones. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in inkjet or additive manufacturing, with hands‑on expertise in piezoelectric and thermal printheads,

Qualifications

7+ years in inkjet application development or additive manufacturing.
2+ years focused on electronic, electrical, or RF/microwave components.
Advanced knowledge of piezoelectric and thermal printhead technology.
Waveform tuning, micro‑pen dispensers, and fluid rheology.
Troubleshooting printers, debugging hardware/software, refining print files.
Familiarity with motion control, digital imaging, and metrology equipment.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with clear communication.
Commitment to quality, confidentiality, ethics and customer service.
U.S. citizenship is required and ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

Test inks, printheads, and substrates for quality and requirements.
Operate and optimize industrial inkjet printers and micro‑pen dispensers.
Evaluate fluid‑structure interactions and tune printing waveforms.
Define customer requirements, configure custom printing, prototype and estimate costs.
Conduct proofs‑of‑concept evaluations on specialized electronics substrates.
Prepare technical reports, proposals, and demonstrations for DoD contracts.
Troubleshoot field issues across hardware, software and integration.
Identify risks and implement solutions for defect‑free components.
Visit customer sites, review progress and adapt capabilities as needed.
Train customer teams and mentor junior engineers.
Document design work and develop SOPs.
Guide internal R&D and suppliers using field data.
