Job summary

Sun Chemical in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Chemist to develop liquid inks and provide technical support to customers and products. The role includes portfolio enhancement, profitability improvement, and driving technology innovation.

You will formulate inks, run standard procedures, prepare reports, and collaborate with manufacturing to transition formulations to production. A BS/BA in chemistry or related science is required, with experience in data reporting and project planning.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in chemistry or related science; equivalent experience accepted.
• Ability to communicate technical data to customers and internal teams.
• Experience with SAP, ISO, and risk management concepts.
• Strong math, time and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Formulate inks and coatings from supervisor directives.
• Carry out standard tests and develop new procedures.
• Prepare prints and exhibits for internal and customer use.
• Contribute to lab project planning and analysis.
• Submit final formulation to manufacturing for production.
• Prepare technical data write-ups and reports for internal and customer use.
• Maintain records of project progress and ensure safety.
