Job summary

Royal Technologies—Cullman, AL—seeks an Injection Molding Technical Supervisor for 2nd shift to lead a small team and drive process improvements. You’ll enter an in-house 9–12 month training program to become a technical leader, working out of the Cullman facility and reporting to the Production Manager.

You’ll troubleshoot molding processes, manage color changes, uphold safety, and ensure customer quality while growing into supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on technical experience (work or personal) is highly preferred.
• Experience with injection molding equipment is a plus.
• High school diploma/GED or 3-5 years of solid manufacturing experience.
• Willing and able to work 45-50 hours per week.
• Ability to train on 1st shift (8am-4pm) for 3-6 months.
• Prior leadership experience is greatly appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Climb in and out of injection molding equipment to perform mold and color changes
• Oversee production of quality products to meet customer standards
• Maintain the work area, equipment and molds for an organized workplace
• Ensure machine safety and follow lock out procedures
• Learn to schedule team machine assignments and provide break coverage to hit daily goals
• Lead a small team (3-6) in daily production tasks and continuous improvement
• Write and conduct employee performance evaluations

What You'll Do

Royal Technologies is a company that is passionate about training and development. We are looking for a hands-on, mechanically minded individual who has a desire to jump in and learn our injection molding machines and processes. If hired, you'll spend 9-12 months working through a robust in-house training program, designed to develop you into a technical leader at Royal. You bring the eagerness to learn and we will equip you with the technical skills needed to help you grow into a supervisor role! Based out of our Cullman, AL facility, this position reports to the Production Manager, and is supported by the bay (department) Injection Molding Supervisor.

This is a 2nd shift position (4pm-12am) Monday-Friday.

Core Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot injection molding processes and equipment. Problem-solve in order to develop corrective actions for customer issues and ideas for improvement
• Climb in and out of injection molding equipment in order to best performmold and color changes
• Prioritize production orders and oversee the production of quality products to ensure our customer standards and needs are met
• Maintain the work area, equipment and molds to provide the team with an organized workplace and proper tools
• Responsible for machine safety and for following all prescribed lock out procedures

Other Responsibilities:

• Learn to schedule team machine assignments and break coverage in order to hit daily goals
• Work alongside current Molding Supervisors, learning how to lead a small team (3-6) in the execution of daily production tasks and in continuous improvement
• Practice writing and conducting employee performance evaluations

Physical Responsibilities:

• Ability to lift up to 55lbs.
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking and performing repetitive tasks
• Bending and stooping
• Ability to use fingers, hands and arms to complete a task (dexterity)
• Hand-eye coordination
• All employees must wear approved safety glasses
