Injection Molding Process Technician (2nd shift)

Primary Talent Partners has a new 12-month contract opening for an Injection Molding Process Technician with a Diagnostics and Life Sciences Manufacturing client based in Indianapolis, IN. Potential for contract renewal or direct-hire opportunities depend on performance and company budget.

Pay: $28 - $31/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment.

Schedule: 2nd Shift; Mon - Fri 2:30pm - 11:00pm

Description

We are seeking a skilled Injection Molding Process Technician to join our team on 2nd shift. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with injection molding machine setups and processing, along with a strong technical understanding of machinery, automation, and quality control standards.

Skills & Experience
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in injection molding setup and processing, automation experience (preferably with Yushin, Harmo, Wittmann systems).
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
  • Set up and adjust molds according to production schedules and quality specifications.
  • Maintain standard cycle times and ensure production meets quality standards established by QA.
  • Perform mold setups, machine adjustments, and troubleshooting to optimize performance.
  • Monitor and document process parameters, addressing tooling or production issues.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment and report unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Communicate effectively with off-going and on-coming technicians for seamless shift changes.
  • Identify and address root causes of machine alarms and quality deviations.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions from the Shift Supervisor.
Equipment Experience
  • Injection Molding Machines: Sumitomo, Automa
  • Automation Robots: Yushin, Harmo, Wittmann
  • Automation Cells: Yaskawa, ATS, Waldorf
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience with injection molding machine setups and processing.
  • Technical knowledge in machinery, materials, and mold design.
  • Skilled in quality control practices and troubleshooting manufacturing issues.
  • Commitment to safety, environmental practices, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills.
  • Ability to monitor and address process issues proactively and independently.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Mechanical aptitude with basic understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Proficient with basic math and computer skills.
  • Possess personal tools as outlined in the technician tool list.
  • Ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision and in a team environment.
