Job summary

Blum USA seeks an Injection Molding Process Technician for the 3rd shift (11pm–7am) to troubleshoot and optimize molding operations. You will set up equipment, perform mold changes, and support continuous improvements across the production floor.

Responsibilities include monitoring cycle times, establishing processing parameters, and training operators and apprentices. The role offers a strong benefits package and opportunities to contribute to new product launches.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong understanding of molding equipment, tooling, and auxiliary systems.
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing software systems.

  • Establish, document, and maintain processing parameters for quality and productivity.
  • Perform mold and insert changeovers with proper setup and validation.
  • Partner with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams to improve.
  • Coach and mentor operators, apprentices, and technicians.
  • Participate in special projects for new product launches and process improvements.
  • Communicate progress, concerns, and solutions during shift handoffs and meetings.
  • Work 3rd shift hours 11pm-7am.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Injection Molding Process Technician to support and optimize our injection molding operations on 3rd shift. In this hands-on technical role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, process improvement, equipment setup, mold changeovers, and supporting production performance across our manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and support mold, resin, and equipment installations, transfers, and startup activities
  • Monitor machine efficiency, cycle times, and overall process performance to identify and resolve issues
  • Establish, document, and maintain processing parameters to ensure quality and productivity targets are achieved
  • Complete mold and insert changeovers while ensuring proper setup and process validation
  • Partner with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams to drive continuous improvement
  • Support operator, apprentice, and technician development through coaching, mentoring, and hands-on training
  • Participate in special projects involving new product launches, equipment installations, process improvements, and operational initiatives
  • Communicate work progress, technical concerns, and solutions during shift handoffs and team meetings
  • Work 3rd shift hours 11pm-7am
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong understanding of molding equipment, tooling, and auxiliary systems
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and manufacturing software systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Engel injection molding machines
  • Experience working in a global manufacturing organization
  • Knowledge of SAP, CMMS, BDK, CONNEX, or similar manufacturing systems
Technical Knowledge

Successful candidates will demonstrate knowledge in:

  • Manufacturing efficiency, quality systems, process controls, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Basic statistics and data-driven problem-solving techniques
  • Process optimization and troubleshooting
  • Attention to detail
  • Blueprint reading and precision measurement
