Job summary

Blum, Inc is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join its precision manufacturing team in Stanley, NC. You will set up and operate CNC and conventional tools, interpret blueprints, and ensure parts meet exact specifications through thorough inspection.

You will collaborate with engineering and maintenance, participate in training apprentices, and support new spare-part initiatives while maintaining a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Experience with CNC setup, operation, troubleshooting, and quality control.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and machining specifications.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools and inspection techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and optimize CNC and conventional machines (lathes, mills, grinders, EDM, drill presses).
  • Monitor part quality and ensure compliance with specifications and tolerances.
  • Interpret blueprints and drawings to determine machining methods and sequences.
  • Verify finished dimensions using precision measuring instruments.
  • Support preventive maintenance for machine shop equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams for technical support.
  • Assist training and mentoring apprenticeship candidates as needed.
  • Contribute to launch and support of new spare-part initiatives.

Precision Manufacturing | CNC Operations | Tooling & Fabrication

Are you a skilled CNC Machinist who takes pride in producing high-quality precision components? We are seeking an experienced professional to join our manufacturing team and play a critical role in the fabrication, repair, and continuous improvement of machine parts that support our operations.

In this position, you will work with advanced machining equipment, contribute to process improvements, and collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions.

What You'll Do
  • Set up, operate, and optimize CNC and conventional machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, EDM equipment, drill presses, and polishing machines
  • Monitor part quality and ensure compliance with engineering specifications and tolerances
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering documentation to determine machining methods and production sequences
  • Verify finished part dimensions using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and gauge blocks
  • Support preventive maintenance activities for machine shop equipment
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to provide technical expertise and support
  • Assist with training and mentoring apprenticeship candidates when needed
  • Contribute to the launch and support of new spare-part initiatives
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Strong experience with CNC setup, operation, troubleshooting, and quality control
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining specifications
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools and inspection techniques
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field
Technical Skills & Knowledge
  • Precision fabrication methods, including heat treating, coating, polishing, and finishing
  • Mathematics relevant to machining, including geometry and trigonometry
  • Manufacturing software, databases, and digital documentation systems
