Job summary

Mekra-Lang-North-America, LLC is seeking a Process Engineer to develop optimum molding processes for plastic components. You will lead improvements to production processes, implement molding standards, and support tool and process optimization across shifts.

The role requires hands-on development, cross-functional collaboration, and experience with decoupled molding and scientific molding techniques. A BS in a technical field plus 3–5 years in plastics is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a technical field with 3–5 years of experience in plastic processing.
• Experience with Mold Flow or SolidWorks or comparable 3D CAD software.
• New mold sampling experience; multi-cavity molds and hot runner systems.
• Knowledge of programming SEPRO robots and robotic systems.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification is a plus.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and lift at least 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize process parameters for Decoupled II molding practices and internal quality standards.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, production, engineers, and tooling through the development cycle, including new mold sampling prior to transfer to production.
• Participate in Tool Design Reviews and recommend improvements to optimize molding, setup, and manufacturing.
• Research, design, and develop manufacturing processes and new technologies.
• Troubleshoot molding and manufacturing processes and material issues; implement long-term solutions.
