Job summary

BD is hiring a Mold Set-Up Technician in Sandy, Utah. You will set up molds and equipment, monitor production, troubleshoot issues, and ensure on-time, high-quality output in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role requires 2–5 years of molding/manufacturing experience, a high school diploma or GED, and strong communication, math and team skills. On-site work with PPE is required; safety and continuous improvement are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills required.
• Basic math and problem-solving skills required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during shift.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and wear PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, smock, hair covering, safety toe shoes).

Responsibilities

• Set up molds, injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
• Monitor production processes and adjust machines to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Perform first article, last article, and in-process quality inspections.
• Troubleshoot molding defects and support corrective actions.
• Complete production paperwork and process documentation.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance and minor equipment repairs.
• Support mold changes, mold maintenance, and process improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, tooling, material handling, and production teams.
• Maintain a safe, organized and clean work environment.
• Participate in safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
