Job summary

Randstad USA in Hanover Park, IL is hiring a Tooling Technician responsible for repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting plastic injection molds in a high-volume production environment.

The role requires hands-on mold shop experience, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to work on a 1st shift (6:00 AM – 3:30 PM). Direct Hire with full benefits, weekly pay, and opportunities for overtime and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 2+ years of experience repairing plastic injection molds
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
• Must work well within a team and communicate effectively
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repair of plastic injection molds
• Use manual machines and tooling equipment to perform corrective actions
• Diagnose tooling issues, test molds, and track root causes
• Maintain and track mold/component inventory levels and status
• Store validated and non-validated tooling components appropriately
• Document mold issues, repair solutions, and PM history to reduce downtime
• Escalate recurring tooling failures through the proper channels
• Follow all SOPs, safety standards, and quality procedures
• Keep mold shop and machines clean and organized
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure tooling readiness
• Other duties as assigned
