Job summary

Cretex Medical Component and Device Technologies in Brooklyn Park, MN, is seeking an experienced Set-Up Technician for the 2nd shift (2:00 pm–10:30 pm, Mon–Fri). Responsibilities include setting up injection molds, preparing auxiliary equipment, and performing first piece inspection to ensure cycle conformance.

Qualified applicants will have a minimum of 3 years in plastic molding, high school diploma or equivalent, and skills in mold setup, basic math, and safety.

Qualifications

• :Ability to perform set-up for new molds and highly complex molds as directed.
• Knowledge of plastic resins, mold setup and functions of an injection molding press
• Ability to create and route reports and communications
• Ability to present information to individuals or small groups
• Knowledge of basic Math
• Ability to operate a forklift and overhead cranes
• Ability to promote and maintain a safe work environment
• Minimum of 3 years of experience
• Strong problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• :Locate, transport, install and store injection molds in accordance with established guidelines; prepare auxiliary and second support equipment as required at the press
• Monitor presses and alarms and troubleshoot issues
• Follows proper setup checks and floor operation procedures
• Trouble shoot the manufacturing process to diagnose and resolve anticipated or actual manufacturing problems that may affect product quality
• Maintain part quality by completing audits and documenting defective parts
• Clean molds
• Understand the operating characteristics and capabilities of all manufacturing machinery, equipment, and controls
• Develop and document set-up sheets as required for new tooling, major tooling changes, process changes, and special tests
• Keep the Engineering Department and the Master Scheduler informed about the technical status of new jobs and projects
• Verify documents and logs are accurate and completed in a timely manner
• Reads and complies with work instructions, set up sheets, and checklists
• Enters production information into the ERP system on a timely basis
• Accurately records and reports hours worked
• Maintains an organized work area (5S) to include workstations, equipment, walkways, and locker rooms
• Participates in the Operational Excellence Program
• Understands and complies with the Cretex professional competencies, company policies, and employee manual
• Adheres to all safety policies; includes wearing personal protective equipment when required
• Supports and complies with the company's Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements
• Completes all other work duties as assigned
