Job summary

Ellwood National Steel is seeking a production associate to support ingot processing in a heavy manufacturing environment. The role involves meticulous documentation, material stocking, and maintaining clean facilities including stripping pits, furnaces, and ingot storage areas.

You will verify ingot numbers and specifications, set up molds for nightly production, and assist with annealing cycles to ensure timely shipments.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school graduate or equivalent G.E.D.
• 1–2 years operating an overhead crane preferred, 1–2 years experience operating heavy equipment is required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the accurate completion of documentation.
• Performs housekeeping, material stocking, and ingot identification.
• Maintains cleanliness of stripping pit, dumping pit, furnaces and ingot storage area.
• Performs stripping of molds from ingot in accordance with manufacturing instructions.
• Loads/unloads annealing furnace and hot boxes as required.
• Verifies ingot number, size, and customer grade specifications.
• Oversees and/or performs accurate mold set up for nightly production, bricking, runner bar cutting, or other tasks as required.
• Determines, performs, and coordinates ingot annealing cycles to facilitate shipments.
• Coordinates shift work assignments.
• Assists maintenance during breakdowns, and Performs other duties, assignments and projects as deemed necessary.
