Job summary

Ellwood National Steel is seeking a dedicated operator to support ingot production. Responsibilities include accurate documentation, material stocking, and inventory control across pits, furnaces, and storage areas. The role requires crane operation experience and adherence to safety and process standards.

The candidate will load/unload annealing equipment, verify ingot specs, and assist with mold setup for nightly production, while coordinating shifts and helping maintenance when needed.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years operating an overhead crane preferred.
• 1-2 years experience operating heavy equipment is required.

Responsibilities

• Complete documentation accurately.
• Housekeeping, material stocking, and ingot identification.
• Maintain cleanliness of stripping pit, dumping pit, furnaces and ingot storage area.
• Strip molds from ingots following manufacturing instructions.
• Load/unload annealing furnace and hot boxes as needed.
• Verify ingot number, size, and customer grade specs.
• Set up molds for nightly production and related tasks.
• Coordinate ingot annealing cycles to enable shipments.
• Coordinate shift work assignments.
• Assist maintenance during breakdowns and perform other duties as needed.
