Job summary

Dataspeed Inc. is seeking a hands-on Electrical Hardware Engineer with 1–3 years of experience to design the electrical systems that turn conventional vehicles into autonomous platforms.

Your week will split between the engineering desk and the vehicle garage, drafting schematics, wiring harnesses, and power requirements, then installing drive-by-wire systems in the garage. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic engineering or mechatronics.
• 1–3 years in electrical engineering, vehicle systems, or electromechanical integration.
• Proficiency with ECAD tools and harness assembly processes.
• Knowledge of CAN bus, Ethernet, serial, digital, and fiber communications.
• Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Specify circuit protection, wire gauges, and connectors to design and build vehicle interface harnesses and other electrical components.
• Take projects from ECAD schematic directly to installed and debugged systems.
• Prototype skills including soldering, crimping, routing, and lab testing.
• Enable autonomous control of throttle, braking, shifting, and steering; test CAN networks.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical issues from design, debug, or manufacturing.
• Create and maintain ECAD schematics, BOMs, Engineering Standards, and Arena PLM data.
• Prioritize safety and electrical reliability as a core requirement.
• Define customer needs and manage project specifications, order materials and scopes.
• Partner with suppliers and other engineering disciplines; explore emerging electrical technologies.
