Job summary

Dataspeed Inc. seeks a hands-on Electrical Engineer with 1–3 years of experience to design electrical systems for autonomous vehicle platforms. You will split time between schematic work and hardware integration in the vehicle garage, moving designs from schematic to installed system.

You will specify power requirements, test CAN networks, prototype with lab equipment, and ensure safety and reliability in a fast-paced environment that bridges design and hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mechatronics.
• 1–3 years of experience in electrical engineering, vehicle systems, or electromechanical integration.
• Proficiency in ECAD tools, harness assembly processes, and designing electrical interfaces for advanced compute modules and sensors.
• Working knowledge of CAN bus, Ethernet, serial, digital, fiber communication protocols and diagnostic lab equipment.

Responsibilities

• Determine power/load requirements, specify circuit protection, wire gauges, connectors for vehicle interface harnesses and electrical components.
• Take projects from ECAD schematic to installed, tested hardware autonomously.
• Prototype hands-on with soldering, crimping, routing, and lab testing.
• Enable autonomous control of throttle, braking, shifting, and steering; test CAN bus networks for reliable compute-to-actuator communication.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues from design, debug, or manufacturing; maintain ECAD schematics, BOMs, and Arena PLM data.
• Define customer needs, lead project specs, order materials, and coordinate with suppliers and other engineering disciplines.
