Job summary

Capital Health in Hopewell, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support the infusion unit. This role assists nurses with direct and indirect patient care, adhering to unit policies to ensure patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities include performing ADLs, vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, transport, documenting observations, stocking supplies, and communicating patient changes to the nurse. Per diem, day shifts.

Qualifications

• Proficient in English, verbal and written communication.
• Six months of Nursing Assistant/Health Aide experience or current enrollment in LPN/RN program.
• Non-Licensed must obtain AHA Heartsaver AED before end of orientation.
• Knowledge of unit policies and patient safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Functions as part of the patient care team assisting nurses in direct and indirect patient care.
• Performs ADLs, hygiene, vital signs, weights, I&O, phlebotomy, glucometer testing, EKGs, positioning and mobility.
• Transports patients, medications, supplies and specimens as requested.
• Documents observations and activities and reports findings to the RN; maintains supplies.
